Computer vision - the ability of a machine to interpret images and video - is one of the most widely applied branches of AI today. It powers everything from automated quality inspection on factory lines to obstacle detection in autonomous vehicles and drones.
In our Computer Vision & AI Systems program, students start with the basics: how images are represented as pixel data, how filters and edge-detection work, and how models are trained to recognise objects.
From there, students build real applications - object detection, simple facial recognition, and automation triggers based on what a camera 'sees'. These projects use the same Python and OpenCV tools used by professional teams.
Computer vision also connects directly to two of our other divisions: autonomous drones rely on vision for navigation and obstacle avoidance, and our AI, Robotics & Automation division increasingly uses vision to identify and sort objects in real deployments. Students who explore computer vision early build a versatile skill that applies across aerospace, robotics, and AI careers.
